Duo -Shade Lantern Blind, Merton Park SW19
By the time our customer arrived at our showroom they’d spent over a year considering their options. Their very beautiful lantern roof window had been supplied in a bespoke RAL colour and they were keen to do it justice. Equally they desperately needed protection from the sun which was making their extension unusable during the Summer months and causing UV damage to their furnishings.
We considered the options and proposed our DuoShade system which enables us to instal two horizontal blinds. We powder coated the hardware to blend seamlessly with their framework.

Whilst the driver in this case was sun protection, a key consideration was aesthetics. Additionally there was no wiring in place, so a battery powered solution was appealing. We were certain that colour matching the hardware and framework would cause the blind to virtually disappear, and we chose Oyster Grey a muted neutral that blends beautifully. The solar panels sit above the blinds, trickle charging the battery packs that are housed out-of-sight in colour matched trunking. As with all our roof blinds the motorisation and controls are Somfy.
