Electric & MOTORISED Skylight & Lantern BliNDS

wiring & power

Overshades are powered by low voltage, micro-motors tucked away inside the blind’s headrail.  This type of skylight blind can be wired-in,  plugged-in, or even solar powered if you’ve no electricity supply. All are controlled wirelessly - by either a hand-held, or a wall-mounted Somfy remote control.

wired-in

If you’ve a wire (power supply)  - but no plug socket  - we can wire straight in. Ideally your power cable should output high in the recess above the skylight blind. The micro-motor sits in the headrail and we install a separate receiver and micro-transformer out of sight above your blind.

plug & go

If you’ve an electric socket available high in the recess, we can plug your skylight blind straight in. The plug incorporates a transformer  - similar to a mobile phone charger. The micro-motor sits in the headrail and includes a receiver that talks wirelessly to your remote.

solar powered

No power? No problem!  Our Overshade skylight blinds can be solar powered.  A discrete battery pack is topped up by a solar charger soaking up the sunshine, out of sight above the blind. Around seven times more light comes through a roof window than a ‘normal’ one - plenty enough to keep your blind running for years…
