Overshade
skylight & lantern blind styles
Our Overshade system has been uniquely designed to deliver the sun protection you need for your roof lantern & skylight windows. Shades are supplied with a four sided framework that supports the blind, which means - at certain sizes - there are no visible cords/ wires .
These roof blinds offer exceptional thermal insulation - keeping you cool in summer and warm in winter. Even better, it's a lightweight, low voltage system that's straightforward to fit!
Overshades can be wired in, or solar powered with rechargeable battery packs.
no visible wires
For smaller blinds up to to 1500mm x 4000mm in sun shield or blackout fabric there are no central support wires.
with visible wires
Larger blinds require more support. Between 1500mm - 3000mm wide there are four slender support wires.
duo-shade
For extra long skylights & lanterns. Our DuoShade system allows us to connect two blinds into a recess, covering up to 2500 x 7600mm .
As with all all Overshades, the motors can be wired in, or solar powered. And the number of visible support wires depends on the width of the blind. The blinds can be operated individually, or as a pair.
Classic Shades
sloping conservatory style roof blinds
Overshade skylight / lantern roof blinds are specifically designed to shade individual roof windows. Where you have a broad expanse of sloped glazing (we see these most often on the side returns of ground floor extensions) you’ll need an Overshade with slightly different detailing.
Our Classic Shades are available in the same fabrics and deliver all the same benefits as our skylight and lantern blinds - but they’re fitted without framework at the sides. Because of this all of them require micro-cables to support them.
If your roof glazing is fitted with flush framework then we’ll generally fit the blinds close together so that they virtually touch. If your window frames/rafters are more prominent ( often they’re several inches deep) then blinds like these look much better when fitted between/inside the frames.
